Somatic Yoga | Intuitive YouTeacher Training
Reignite your confidence and unlock your creativity
Return to teaching with fresh inspiration and practical tools
"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge."
— Albert Einstein
This 2-day module invites yoga teachers to explore the principles of Somatic Learning and Intuitive Sequencing. Through embodied practice, discussion, and teaching labs, you'll learn how to design intelligent, flowing classes that feel both creative and deeply supportive for the nervous system.
Reignite your confidence, unlock your creativity, and return to teaching with fresh inspiration, practical tools, and a renewed sense of embodiment.
Reignite Your Teaching, Reawaken Your Body
Are you wishing to move towards a more intuitive way of sequencing to create balanced, flowing practices that have a deeper embodied awareness and feel less formulaic?
Would you like to rediscover your confidence and creativity as a teacher while also cultivating a deeper connection to your own body?
This two-day CPD course immerses you in the principles of Somatic Learning and Intuitive Sequencing. You'll learn how to move and teach from embodied awareness, reframe sequencing as an expressive and responsive art, and leave with practical tools to design classes that are not only unique but deeply supportive for your students' nervous systems, bodies, and inner lives.
This course can be taken as a stand-alone CPD module or allocated as a 15-hour elective on our 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training programme.
Why Somatic Learning for Yoga Teachers?
Somatic learning invites us to shift from "performing" yoga to feeling, sensing, and discovering yoga from within. For teachers, this approach offers:
Embodied Confidence
Teaching grounded in your own inner awareness rather than memorised scripts.
Sustainable Practice
Understanding how somatic exploration supports injury prevention and longevity in yoga.
Nervous System Attunement
Learning how to regulate and guide students toward safety, ease, and resilience.
Intuitive Freedom
Unlocking spontaneous sequencing that arises organically.
Deeper Student Connection
Empowering students to trust their bodies and discover yoga as a living, evolving practice.
Somatic learning transforms yoga into an exploration of being rather than a fixed performance of poses.

Benefits of Somatic Learning for Yoga Teachers
Somatic yoga combines traditional yoga postures with principles of somatic movement, which focuses on body awareness, nervous system regulation, and mindful movement. Here are five key benefits:
Improved Body Awareness
Somatic yoga emphasizes sensing internal body cues, helping you notice tension, alignment, and habitual movement patterns. This awareness can lead to more efficient and safer movement in daily life.
Stress Reduction & Nervous System Regulation
Gentle, mindful movements in somatic yoga activate the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress, lowering heart rate, and promoting relaxation.
Enhanced Flexibility & Mobility
Unlike traditional yoga that may focus on stretching to reach a pose, somatic yoga encourages slow, controlled movements, which can increase joint range of motion without strain.
Pain Relief & Injury Prevention
By retraining habitual movement patterns and releasing chronic tension, somatic yoga can alleviate aches, reduce chronic pain, and lower the risk of repetitive strain injuries.
Improved Mind-Body Connection
Practicing somatic yoga strengthens the link between mind and body, fostering better posture, balance, coordination, and overall functional movement.
